More about the healthcheck

The Financial Healthcheck was developed jointly by the BBC and the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK watchdog for the financial services industry.

The healthcheck aims to give you some information to help you identify your financial needs and make your financial decisions. It only provides a general guide and you shouldn't take any decisions based solely on your feedback.

Your feedback is based on the information you give today about your current financial circumstances. The healthcheck will work through your financial needs in an order of priority that is likely to be sensible for most people - but it is not a substitute for you thinking about how this relates to your own circumstances and priorities. And, remember, it is a good idea to review your finances from time to time, especially when your circumstances change.

The healthcheck does not provide financial or other professional advice. If you want advice specifically tailored to your personal circumstances you should consult an adviser.

If you are using the healthcheck with an adviser, the FSA does not endorse any conclusions they may draw from it or recommendations they make to you. If you can, it's a good idea to get a printed copy of your healthcheck feedback from your adviser.

If you are using the healthcheck to advise someone else, the FSA cannot endorse any conclusions you may draw from it or recommendations you make to them nor should any such endorsement be implied. It is recommended that you give the person you are advising a printed copy of their healthcheck feedback.
