Warning – Flett Sinclair and Petsure

The FSA has taken action concerning the conduct of Flett Sinclair Insurance Brokers Limited (Flett Sinclair) and Petsure Limited (Petsure) which traded from offices at 20 Woodford Avenue, Ilford, Essex IG2 6XG. The director of both companies is Mr David Holland.

Flett Sinclair and Petsure are no longer authorised by the FSA. Mr Holland is prohibited from acting as an insurance broker.

The FSA is aware that some customers have paid pet insurance premiums to Flett Sinclair or Petsure to renew existing policies or purchase new policies but the money has not been paid over to the insurer in every case. Despite this the insurer has met claims made by policyholders of pet insurance policies renewed by Mr Holland between 27 September 2005 and 6 February 2007.

There may be customers of Flett Sinclair or Petsure who currently have no pet insurance cover in place.

Who does this affect?

Potentially any customers who took out pet insurance through Flett Sinclair or Petsure.

What should affected customers do next?

If you are a customer of Flett Sinclair or Petsure and are in any doubt as to whether you have valid pet insurance, you are strongly advised to contact the insurance company with whom you believe your policy is held.

If you discover you are not covered you should take immediate steps to arrange new cover.

You should also contact the Customer Services Team of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), which may be able to consider claims for compensation in relation to premiums paid to this firm.
