What should affected customers do next?

If you are a customer of Diamond and are in any doubt as to whether you have valid insurance, you are strongly advised to contact the insurance company with whom you believe your policy is held to check. If you find you do not have valid insurance, you should take immediate steps to arrange new cover.

If you were in the process of arranging a mortgage through Diamond, you should consider making alternative arrangements with other brokers or lenders.

You should also contact the Customer Services Team of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (“FSCS”), which may be able to consider claims for compensation in relation to premiums and fees paid to Diamond.
