FRS went into liquidation on 19 October 2005 and is now closed to regulated business. Before this date, the firm operated as an insurance broker that specialised in Professional Indemnity and Director and Officers Insurance.

Who does this affect?

Most insurance policies purchased through FRS were underwritten by an authorised insurer, however, the FSA understands there may be a small number of clients who have no cover in place.

Most of those clients affected will by now have been notified but there may be a few residual clients who remain unaware.

What should affected consumers do next?

If you are in any doubt as to whether there is underwriting in place for your policy, you should first contact the underwriter mentioned on your policy document.
